MONROVIA – The Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) of Liberia has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to Medtech Scientific Ltd, demanding justification for its failure to provide requested operational information. The company risks sanctions for non-compliance with the agency's directives.

On December 18, 2024, the FIA extended a prior deadline, initially set for December 13, 2024, requiring Medtech to submit critical documentation regarding its activities from January 1 to December 31, 2024. Despite the extension, Medtech missed the final deadline of January 7, 2025.

The FIA has classified Medtech’s non-compliance as defiance and a violation of Section 67.3 of the FIA Act of 2021, which grants the agency authority to request and obtain necessary information without delay. The agency has warned that failure to respond within the given timeframe could result in sanctions against the company.
