On Friday, November 18, the Ministry of Justice revised the accusations against Oliver Zayzay, a Liberian national suspected of bringing cocaine into Liberia valued over $100 million dollars. He was also detained again.
Zayzay was reportedly freed from the Monrovia Central Prison last week, according to FrontPageAfrica, weeks after his detention as a result of a significant cocaine bust.
The State made the claim that "the law applies anytime where the State can furnish and subsequently bring forward charges against the defendant" during a five-minute debate.

The re-arrest of Zayzay was prompted by prior charges of drug trafficking, money laundering, unauthorized importation of controlled substances, and criminal facilitation, according to acting Liberian solicitor general Wesseh A. Wesseh.
Additionally, he pleaded with the court for the State to present substantial evidence against defendant Zayzay that would link him to narcotics trafficking and be supported by photographs.

The criminal procedure law's section 14.7 sub 2 b, 1CRI section 25.2 25.2 and 18.1 specifies that "the court should take judicial notices of historical part and judicial notice of the Law," according to the attorney for defendant Zayzay.
Additionally, according to his attorney, the government is attempting to sway the outcome of the case by filing a motion to recover money that was "lawfully taken from defendant Zayzay, over US$ 11,000."

Government officials are accusing defendant Zayzay of lying to avoid returning the money they stole.

Judge Jomah S. Jallah of the Monrovia City Court granted the State's motion for money laundering and criminal conspiracy after hearing the arguments.
Defendant Zayzay was informed by Judge Jallah that he had the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney of his choosing, and that he should make use of the law.
